Dorothy Lovelace

Dorothy Lovelace is an amateur human, sometime professional artist, and full-time weirdo. She has lived in Ithaca since the late twentieth century and enjoyed two careers, one in hospitality and the other in health and human services, before recently returning focus to her first passion, art and design. Dorothy participated as a designer in the Recycled Runway fashion events by the ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes from 2017-2019, creating a transforming dress for the show in 2018. As a lover of costumes it’s not uncommon to find her at an event decked out in outrageous colors, horns, and flowers Creating equitable opportunities for marginalized people is a driving force behind much of her work; she counts herself lucky to live in a beautiful place surrounded by abundant nature that celebrates art and diversity. Transforming worthwhile ideals from aspirations into concrete reality is her life mission.

Zoë Van Nostrand

Zoë Van Nostrand can usually be found working and volunteering at the intersection of art, accessibility, equity, and local food systems. With two degrees in social justice and a lifelong engagement with artist communities in Tompkins County, Zoë is thrilled to support Ithaca Murals grow in this next chapter and keep its roots in justice, representation, and bringing more color and culture to Ithaca. Zoë has worked as the Marketing & Community Engagement Manager for The History Center in Tompkins County since 2019, and the Community Coordinator for Artist Resource Quarters (ARQbarn) intentional artist community since 2016. Zoë also serves on the board for the Ithaca Public Education Initiative.

Carol Mallison

Carol Mallison arrived in Ithaca in 1982 on the weekend of the Ithaca Festival. The bulk of her career has been spent in affordable housing while working as a Section 8 Rental Assistance Manager, Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services Rental Manager, and as the Executive Director of McGraw House from which she retired after 23 years in 2019. A lifelong member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), and former Talking Circles participant, Mallison has served on boards of directors of a variety of community organizations, and spent many hours volunteering on their projects, including the City Federation of Women’s Organizations, Ithaca Murals, the Ithaca Festival, Cayuga Waterfront Trail, Sister Friends, Cayuga Trails Club, Diversity Consortium of TC, Landlords Association of TC, Ithaca’s Public Art Commission, Gadabout, COFA, the United Way fund review committee, Social Service League, Newfields of Fun Playground and Cayuga Nature Ctr. Treetops builds, and the Newfield Food Pantry. Mallison looks forward to adding more beauty to the community’s collection of public art.

Heather Williams

Heather Williams has lived in Trumansburg 7 years. She’s volunteered since she was a teen and received the B’nai Brith Community Service Award in her hometown for working with children with disabilities. Since moving to Tompkins County, she’s volunteered with Grassroots Festival since 2017, Ithaca Murals since 2019, Beautification Brigade for 4 years and maintained the TCPL gardens till last fall. She also volunteered to rejuvenate Greensprings Natural Cemetery’s map and signage. She is a new member of the Greater Ithaca Art Trail and was selected as featured artists for 2022’s Ithaca Festival. You can find her artwork at Uncle Toddy’s Flea Market and throughout Tompkins County. She enjoys spending time creating with her two children and loves to be outdoors! She also enjoys working on passion projects such as sketching musicians performing live and creating artwork for friends in-between her career instructing paint and sips and performing at live painting events.
