Cayuga Heights Mural Proposal:

Dear all,
I am pleased to share my proposal and the possible opportunity to collaborate on this project. I am interested in this opportunity because I feel that art has a tremendous impact on our community and can make such a positive difference.

My design is a representation of our African American youth and how they choose to defeat their battles within society. Accomplishing victories with love, kindness, and thunder in their hearts. The images in my sketch are accompanied by a vibrant background which is used to catch the viewer’s attention and amplify the subject. My project aligns with the overall mission because it is a representation and empowerment of our youth and African American community as well.

This project will be completed using exterior paints, paintbrushes, and a ladder. Completion should take an estimate of 3 days. I’m also open to altering my design if needed! Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Egypt Hagan

Cayuga Heights Mural Proposal:

Hello,
I am a visual artist based in Rochester, NY, and I am passionate about painting murals. I love the process of creating and experiencing large-scale artwork. I've worked with schools, property managers, business owners, and curators to create site-specific and visually impactful murals. I believe that murals play a significant role in enriching the human experience and fosters meaningful connections between people and their community.  Every mural represents a wonderful opportunity to say something important about the community's values and people. I create murals because its sheer size strengthens the message of an image, impacting viewers more powerfully than on regularly sized canvas or paper.  With each mural, my goal is to visualize big ideas, and translate those ideas into a bold visual statement.

In this email I've attached a draft of the mural that I propose to paint for Cayuga Heights Elementary School.  I came up with an idea that I feel embraces youth, ethnic diversity, and gender inclusivity.  I've also included photos of my past mural work, along with my resume and a link to my artist website.

Thank you for sharing this opportunity for the artists as well as the students, and I hope to hear from you in the near future!

Cayuga Heights Mural Proposal:

Hello!
As a former CHES mom and local art teacher for after school programs at BJM and Belle Sherman, the opportunity to create a mural for the Cayuga Heights Elementary school community is a dream of mine I have had for some time. My mission as an engaged parent, educator and creator is to use creativity as a means to uplift and inspire others to make this world the best it can be. It is my passion to work with children of all ages and abilities, and bring out the love of learning through play, mindfulness, and creative expression.

Having worked for three years with students at BJM painting a mural that transformed the cafeteria into a bright, welcoming environment, I am happy to offer an opportunity for student participation in the creation of this mural at CHES if this is of interest. Additionally, words of inspiration may be included along the bottom border of this design, if so desired. The process of word choice could also be a fun activity for the student body to engage in and vote on.

It would be an honor to be a part of this project, and I look forward to hearing from you. :)
Jessica
