"If we don't have public art, we don't really have art."
Picture

"It is really important to remember that the Green New Deal is a kind of revolution; in our economy, in our nature, and in our outlook upon the natural world.

It is something that, if it doesn't happen, we will be headed for the sixth extinction."

Sunrise on the Green New Deal

Dan Burgevin's mural brings attention to legislation that is pivotal to the future of climate change prevention and
mitigation, as well as the future
of justice and sustainability
in America.

Dan believes in the power of public art and this philosophy is on full display in his mural, 'Sunrise on the Green New Deal.' The mural is startlingly grand in scale, and is impossible to miss when walking, biking, or driving by the gargantuan homage to the Green New Deal.

Located on the corner of West Buffalo Street and North Fulton Street in downtown Ithaca, NY, this mural depicts the variety of benefits the Green New Deal can bring or prompt in the future of America.

Special thanks to artists Dan Burgevin, Selima Guirey, Adrienne Ellis, and John Gurche for making this mural a reality... as well as Karl Graham and Chris Cain (Alternatives Federal Credit Union) and Caleb Thomas (Ithaca Murals) for organizational support.
