Next to the Waterfront Trail at the Farmers Market!
Where does our water come from?
How and where is it cleaned so we can use it?
How does it get to our houses, schools, businesses, and restaurants, and where does it go once it leaves?
What else does water do for our community?
How can community members participate in making sure our water systems are thoughtful, safe, and not harming people and the environment?
How can environmental disasters impact our current water treatment process?
What does it take to have ecologically sound water systems?
Who is polluting our waters? Who is keeping them safe?
We've organized this beautiful mural as a creative and educational bridge between water, the Ithaca Area Wastewater Treatment Facility, and residents.
The Facility can treat up to 13.1 million gallons of wastewater every day, collecting and processing used water from homes and businesses before sending it back into Cayuga Lake.
